Current event 8: The 2010 LA Concept car Design Challenge!!

For some odd years the Los Angeles car shop has made a car challenge, where you make a dedign of a car that you would like to have in the future or a car that you want built. So the car that you design shouldent have so many of earths materials so that you are helping the earth as well. So people had to make cars that were energy used and they had to be light weight no more then 1,000lbs and it had to be able to hold 4 passenger or more. 7 people went into the challenge and there are some pics below about the car a pic with the car. 

So the first car is a Honda Air, It is a electric car that had the inspired by the skydiving wing suits. The glass of the car is able to recycle and the cars metal and others are from a junk yard that were spray painted and the car is only 800lbs. The car has a vegetable based polymer panel.

The next car is made by Mercedes in Japan. The car is called Mayback DRS, the car is fully electric and the car is controlled by a computer that is plugged into a big city transport instructed. The cool thing about the car is that it can be pedaled by the man/ woman so that will driving it is giving you exercise. 

   The next car is a Mazda MX-0, the Mazda is also electric, the people who made this car had three things in there mind to make the car perfect zero weight, zero carbon emission and zero mass. To make the car they  had to use lightweight materials and the car has a super suspensor in the back. 

 

Design

So as you an see the car shops are trying to stop pollution and the destruction of our earth, so they are trying to make environmentally friendly cars that look super cool and that people will enjoy and will keep for the rest of there lives. I think that this paper of these cars is a great idea and if i had my license i would absolutely  get one of these cars.  

Green Plastic Reflection!

The plastics are being developed so that they can be recycled and so that we don't have to use that much in order to rap or to make something. 

A plastic is green if it can be recyclable or if it can be burned and then it can be put into another product or something. 


Some of the problems are that plastic is being used to much and in packages or on packages they are usiong plastic on parts where they don't need plastic or that much, another thing is that plastic that can not be recycled is thrown into a dump and then left there until it decomposes. 


It might become more popular and people will buy it more or it could become totally unpopular and no body will buy it and then the company will become broke.

Food inc reflection!!!

After watching the movie i thought how could people do this. Why would you do that to the animals, and i wondered how the people would feel if they were being treated like the animals. But the thing i found most disgusting is that they made the cows so heavy that they couldn't walk and they used the things to lift boxes to lift the cow.   

They said that with technology it gave the industries more power which made them kill more and they can do it a lot faster then before, because before they didn't have enough people so they couldn't go fast so they didn't kill that many animals and with technology they are feeding the animals out of machines unlike in the past they would feed the cows grass and they cows would be healthy and they wouldn't be any side effect/ killing in the process to people. 

Us humans control what happens to the earth and by doing all this killing and fattening it is affecting the earth a lot and we are the ones cosing it.  

I think that we should say NO now and stop using all this technology and go back to hard work but it makes the earth and the people a lot better and healthier.   

Natural farming is a lot better then technology farming because natural is not harming the animals like technology farming is and natural is a lot healthy and natural keeps bad battery and other thing away like if we were using natural instead of technology farming that little two year old wouldn't have died and he would have lived and have a happy life eating hamburgers and having fun.  

Technology farming is really bad and it doesn't matter how big the chicken is all that matters is that you have a chicken, and even thought its a small chicken you must think what will happen to the animals/ you if they use technology farming. 

I think that the film was really good and if everyone watches it then they will know and then the whole world will help go back to normal farming and then the world will be healthier, you  will be healthier and the animals will be healthier. 

The packaging project reflection!

The packaging project made me think and it taught me a lot about plastic and about paper and all the others. I also thin that this project taught the whole class about the environment and about garbage and what we do with it after we throw it away. My project taught me a lot and if i become a package builder i would make the packages worthy and us full and even if it has these two components it will still help the earth and it will save plastic and paper. Unlike in my package it wasted so much plastic that you could of taken off some and made a plastic container for lunch.
But now after the whole class presented, i think we will all be more environmentally friendly and we will watch what we buy and use.

Nintendo Ds!!!!!

Nintendo DS companies are doing a lot for people and the environment. For peoples heath the company has a work sheet that tells the instructions and then theres another sheet that tells you what might happen if you play to much or anything else. 

Nintendo DS is travailing around the world and helping teach people about our earth and what we are doing to it. Nintendo DS is working together with PlayStation company and these two industries are working to teach and make the world better. 

Some people and getting surges from playing video games and from watching tv, and there for companies are getting blamed for it when it it is not there fault.

Last year, 15 teams went out on there first quests, a 142 mile car race across a desert. But the thing was that the teams could not be in the car and they could not use remotes, the car had to drive itself. The cars had to be able to drive over any type of terrain and had to be able to go around obstacles. All the cars crash, stalled or burned, so the student had to re- think there strategies. Only five out of 23 finalist went 130 miles. The winners car did the course i 6 and his car maximum speed is 30 kilometers per hour. 

The cars are being examined by the army and some others but the army really wants theses cars for battle so that the dont risk as many solders as they did in all the other armies. The army tecno people are trying to add James bong features into the cars. The cars would also be used to transport hurt solders from place to place and to bring goods and medications to the bases, and they would do this if they used the cars. 

Experts were inspecting the car that won and he found 5 laser beam sensors on top of the car and computer software that would help make the car avoid obstacles. Experts also predict that soon maybe people might be using these cars and trucks to go to work and to use in the general life and it would make roads safer and easier in some way.     

I think that is would be awesome if we could go to school and other places with out a driver and i bet our parents would like to so they could relax will we go on long road trips, but one thing i am not sure of it what about our drivers what would happen to there jobs and how would they get money but other then that it is so cool and i think it could really help the world in war and in general.  

Reflection on glogster presentation

This reflection is going to be about my glogster page which i did a few weeks ago for a book that i read, the book is calles "Ravens Gate" the book is a non fiction book but it really makes your brain work in the sense it makes you pounder and its full of mysteries. Now lets go into the book.

The reason we made a glogster for our book is because we wanted to share and show all our interests in book and what they have to offer. My book is Ravens Gate it is a great book if you like mysteries and wild features like power, magic and other crazy fiction things. This book brought me rupture because it was interesting and once you start you can never stop reading it. The book was about a boy and his friend that went into a ware house that had a every game in the world and all of these games were not out in the stores yet so they wanted to get them before anyone else did. When they were in there a police man came and then the boys were dumbfounded and they went to jail for 2 days so that the get a punishment for what the did. The way i did the glogster page was revolved around death and blood most and that was the theme for the page, but the writing was pretty peace full and it was with blood or anything. I thought that the book and the glogster were great for me and i really enjoyed doing it and the best part was that i could show it to all my class mates, so they could understand and know what i am reading and learning in the book. But the only thing i didn't really like in the book was there were to many deaths, killing and blood all of those i dont like.

So from my reflection you should get a good sense of what my book is about and my feeling about the book and the whole project its self, hope you like the book if you ever read it after you read my reflection.
